Jennifer Owen, Technical Director and Resident Designer

Jennifer Owen grew up in the Dallas area and is a graduate of Berkner High School and Richland College.  Following her theatrical training at Richland and a semester of study in England, Jennifer went on to work behind the scenes at Santa Fe Opera. She completed her BFA in stage design with honors at Northern Kentucky University.  As a scholarship student at NKU Jennifer designed and stage-managed many productions in the Cincinnati area. NKU’s sponsorship of the Y.E.S Festival of New Plays gave Jennifer an opportunity to design original works and work directly with playwrights to achieve their artistic vision. After graduation Jennifer worked as a freelance designer and technician before moving to western New York to work for Genesee Community College. At Genesee she developed community involvement with the theater education department and created unique designs to incorporate student talents and teach construction techniques.  Jennifer found Dallas sunshine preferable to New York snow and returned to Richland College as the theater technician responsible for managing the performance facilities at Richland.  At Richland Jennifer provides technical direction and designs for many theatrical, dance, music and community events.  In the last two years Jennifer has been planning and coordinating the renovation of Richland’s theatre facilities.  Jennifer has designed sets, lights, and sound for productions such as Richard III, Twelfth Night, The Ministers Black Veil, Trojan Women, Frankenstein, Cyrano, and Dracula.  She is excited to be a part of Classical Acting Company as it joins the theatrical community in Dallas.

Jennifer has designed the sets for C.A.C.'s productions of Much Ado About Nothing and All My Sons, and  lights for A Flea in Her Ear.
